Teens Karate
Funakoshi Karate focuses on developing fitness, physical mastery, mental control,
intellectual enrichment and self-defence capabilities. The underlying philosophy is built on the karate maxims defined by the late Japanese Karate Master, Gichin Funakoshi:
CHARACTER,
EFFORT,
ETIQUETTE,
SINCERITY and
SELF-CONTROL.
For teenagers, the self-image, self-confidence, self-discipline and self-control that they
develop can determine, to some extent, the level of happiness and success that they experience as an adult. Funakoshi Karate can help teenagers attain:
* Respect for others
* Improved grades
* Leadership skills
* Increased concentration
* Increased coordination & dexterity
* Goal setting & achievement
Karate can give teenagers the strength to say "NO" to negative and potentially harmful
peer pressure, and to replace negatives with positives in thought, word and deed. Many karate students become leaders of their peer groups, not complacent followers who do "whatever" just to fit in. |
