Team Leader Program

In January 2001, Funakoshi Karate Australia introduced a Team Leader program.

What Is A Team Leader Program?

* A program designed to improve leadership skills

* A program designed to gradually give students more responsibility

* A program to help students become successful communicators and motivators

* A program to train students to become assistant instructors and eventually full dojo
instructors

How Does One Become A Team Leader?

Any member of the Black Belt Club satisfying the following criteria may be invited to
join the program:

* Demonstrates high personal commitment to karate

* Demonstrates loyalty

* Demonstrates humility

* Demonstrates integrity

* Demonstrates maturity and an open mind

* Demonstrates enthusiasm to help others

* Demonstrates tolerance of others

* Commands respect from fellow karateka

Responsibilities Of A Team Leader?

* To attend Team Leader training when scheduled

* To set an exceptional example at regular training so that students look up to Team
Leaders as role models

* To assist dojo instructors with one lesson per week
