Adults Non-contact Karate

These classes run at the same time as the Kids Karate class, but on a separate floor.
This means that parents are able to participate in healthy exercise while their kids are
training.

Typically, classes include combinations of: warm-up exercises, stretches, conditioning
exercises, practise and development of striking and kicking techniques, form and kata
work, bag work (practising striking and kicking techniques against bags) and self
defense work. It is stressed that in these classes, ALL activities be conducted at a pace
that is comfortable for the participant - hard, vigorous and fast movements are not
expected or forced upon individuals.

For mature adults, karate's benefits really shine. Stress management, weight loss,
strength development, enhanced flexibility and improved confidence are among the most
often cited benefits. Remember: karate can be practised strongly, quickly and
vigorously, or it can be practised softly, slowly and gently.

"Karate is a great way to keep fit, toned and to keep off
excess weight. I like the challenge of regular
gradings, learning self-defense and working with a
great group of people." - Marita Slattery
"I am into karate for fitness and well
being. I like the challenge and
friendly atmosphere at training." -
Eddie Fischer
